The Satakuntan Geokätköilijät ry organized volunteer activities in the winter of 2024–2025, where birdhouses and hedgehog nests were built. 4 hedgehog nests were made and there are more of them all over Satakunta. Nearly a hundred birdhouses were made and some were taken to their backyards by the makers, but over 100 were still left to be installed at the volunteer activities.
Birdhouses were made for tits, siskins, terns and treecreepers. In addition, some bat pots were made.
Most of the pots were taken to Petäjäs in Rauma (about 70 pieces) and the shores of Pitkäjärvi (35 pieces).
The workshops were held at the Tammela Repair Centre and on Uotila's warehouse. 40–65 names participated in the workshops per event.
Thanks to the hardworking volunteers for their activity and to the City of Rauma for their material assistance and location.
The birdhouses were made and installed in collaboration with the SLL Rauma Region Association.
